Today I went and laid on the deck, it was so beautiful outside. I initially laid down so that I could stretch my back, but once I closed my eyes it was so peaceful outside. I spent some time focusing on the location of each bird around, and seeing if I could identify them. I followed my dogs' locations by the noises on their collars. The hum of a nearby AC unit anchored it all as I felt the sun come in and put of the clouds, and then the clouds started to rain a bit! And there I stayed, even when my dogs tried to lick my face to tell me it was time to go in. The rain stopped shortly; I wasn't even wet. I felt so much more a part of my world in that moment. I need to do it more often.
